Addictions

alcoholism, meth, nicotine, painkillers, opiates

In todays world, many substances, including prescription drugs prescribed by doctors, can lead to horrible addictions. One common problem is treating addictions to one substance by giving the person an addiction to another substance. A perfect example of this is heroin addicts, who are addicted to a somewhat natural form of opiates, being prescribed methadone, which is simply a man made synthetic opiate. This section of the site will attempt to introduce more holistic methods of stopping addictions to a large number of substances.

As a former owner of an herbal product designed to aid in the withdrawal symptoms from opiate based painkillers, I have seen first hand the efforts made by large pharmaceutical companies to prevent the spread of knowledge in regards to natural treatments for addiction. Most people don’t know about the asian herb, Mitragyna Speciosa, which blocks the same receptors in the brain that opiates bind to, thus making withdrawal an easy process.  Or that Lobelia, aka Indian Tobacco could block the nicotine receptors in your brain. Too bad the DEA banned it.

As you can see, there is a world of alternative addiction treatments available, we just need to dig a little deeper, hopefully with the help of HomeCures.org.
